Definitely woke up from a dream in which I was the heir to House Atreides and the woman version of Muad’dib. Definitely still shaken up by my visions of timespace bubbling over from the present moment, which made me go blind in the dream-life.
May or may not, in waking life, be imbued with terrible purpose. Will find out on Wednesday.
Goddammit brain, why must you troll me so hard.
Girls, romanticize yourselves. You are a queen. You are a warrior. You are an enchantress. You are a mermaid. You are a goddess. You are all of these things and more, you are the stuff of fairytales.
Women, traumatize others. You are a dragon. You are a wolf. You are a bump in the night. You are the last thing they see in the darkness. You are all of these things and more, you are the heart of their fucking nightmares.
I am all of these things.
Don’t insult the crows!
A moonbow is a rainbow caused by moonlight. It’s a bit fainter than an actual rainbow. Moonbows are rare because moonlight is not very bright. A bright full moon is needed & it must be raining opposite the moon. The sky must be dark and the moon must be less than 42º high. (Source) (You may also like: 360 degree rainbows)
stop romanticizing nature while demonizing cities.
cities are beautiful. the skyscrapers all lit up are as beautiful as the moon. neon is as lovely as stars. concrete is as sturdy as earth, architecture strong as the trees. summers in the city teem with life, too, winters are equally cold and bare, and the sound of car horns, the sound of crowds, the cacophony of metal and stone is as beautiful as birdsong.
there is nature in cities. there is life in cities. there is the sacred and the divine and the beautiful in cities. cities are alive, they have spirits that may be a little younger, but are just as real as those of the natural world.
in both the broader and the particular senses, cities ARE nature. broadly, they are the natural outgrowth of hairless-ape social behaviors. they are made from stone and sand and the ore latticework in the earth transmuted by fire.
we do terrible things with them and in them, and cities can likewise to terrible things to us, but this is also true within the (false) romanticized boundaries of “Nature” - particularly, there is hunger in nature. there is pointless killing and mass death on all scales in nature. It is not rooting for you and it does not love you; it supports your life inasmuch as you don’t disrupt its workings too badly, and it will snuff out your life if in doing so the wider system benefits from your resources or simply from your absence. it is the same as with cities.
